Merry Christmas!!!

What a day to celebrate...The Father's gift of His Son to us! God made flesh...like unto one of us...EMMANUEL...God with us! We give gifts to one another, reflecting the giving heart of our Father in Heaven who gave us His son. So...let the festivities begin!!!
This is our first Christmas without our son, Cory. It's been kinda sad & we miss him. We had a great time with Hannah & Jeffrey tho, so that made up for the hole in our hearts for Cory & Anna. They are celebrating with Anna's family in Washington, NC. I'm happy for her & her family, but sure do miss them! This is Hannah & Jeffrey's first Christmas together as husband & wife. It's nice to gain a son!
We'll celebrate all over again when Cory & Anna get home from North Carolina Friday afternoon. We'll have our big Christmas dinner all together, and then share gifts with Cory & Anna. Then they wanna have a sleep-over and a big breakfast the next morning. I like the plan! : ) So...basically...we get to celebrate Christmas TWICE!!!

Our baby girl is MARRIED!!!

On August Sixteenth, Two Thousand and Eight...Hannah & Jeffrey were united in Marriage.

The newlyweds are in bliss! They are enjoying their new, cozy apartment...just blocks away from the rest of the family. The wedding was beautiful! It's amazing how God granted so much favor to bless them with such a beautiful wedding. It was only two weeks of planning/preparation, and ended up being just beautiful! I think I'll write a book..."A Wedding In Two Weeks"! I figure we saved months of stress by getting in done in a crunch. :)

Anna's 21st Birthday

For Anna, my daughter-in-love's birthday, we took her & Cory to the Kansas City Ballet. Betty Klein was performing in their performance of "Romeo and Julliet". It was beautiful! We all got to dress up & go out on the town, which doesn't happen much for us...We had a great time! I used Michelle Boroni's "Colors of Summer" kit from Faith Sisters to create this 'scrapbook page'.

Manna 4 U

A New Thing!

I'm Singin' a new Song...cuz He's doin' a New Thing!
His mercies are New every morning!

As the prophecy for 2008 said...this was going to be a year of new beginnings. And, right on time...in the Spring of New Beginnings...God brought us into a new season!

We've been helping a family run a food ministry out of their garage. We've been blessed & fed by it & really wanted to give back with time & labors. So...they were glad to oblige that desire in us! We had been helping them out for a couple of months...also helping the God-Father' (he holds the non-profit papers & calls the shots) of the organization...in pick-ups & deliveries. We've been enjoying the opportunity to give back & getting to know these two families.

Well, the family whose garage the food is given from asked us if we would pray about taking over! Whoa! Amazingly, I have had several dreams, even before ever moving to KCMO that were about a huge supply warehouse I would have authority in. In fact, 5 successive dreams in all! My best friend also had a dream when we first moved out here...about Skip with this HUGE refrigerator full of food that he was blessing people with. So, it seemed we already had our answer before we even knew this would come about!

It has been our heart since before even making this move, that we would be mother & father to those who longed for family here. We wanted to be a source of His blessing to His people here. It seems this desire was birthed in the very heart of God Himself! It broke our heart when our son was out here & in need & we were not here to supply for him. We longed to come out & be the vehicle of supply to those in need. Well....here we are!

The food ministry, "Manna 4 U" moved to our garage on March 31st, 2008. This is our 'new beginning', #1 for 2008. Who knows what else God has in store for us! He's got lots of good plans for us! We have 120 families/people on our email list that come & receive food from our garage. It comes from several sources, three times a week. We open our garage door and they come! And they come...and they come!!! I feel like I get to live out the Abrahamic Covenant...to be blessed and to be a blessing!

Oh, Bless the Lord, for He is Good

April is Here!!!

WOW! One of my favorite months! This is the month I was born...and the month I was married to my dear husband some 26 years ago! I have continued my scripture meditation & journalling. This is a journal I created for my worship team's Worship With the Word set. This is the first page for the first 'cycle' in our singing journey through Psalm 145. {Images are 'clickable' for a closer look.}

Day 22; The journey continues!

I had a dream last night...wish I could remember with clarity what it was about! All I know is I woke up in the middle of the night with the thought of being clothed with grace & humility as garments! The dream inspired today's journal entry & scriptures. I pray these will be my garments!

Day 21...the last day!!??

Oh my! We've come to the end of our 21 days. Tomorrow is a new beginning of continuing the journey on my own...without Rhonna's inspiration...without the encouragement of the 21-ers. YIKES! Lord, I need grace to be diligent & continue this journey in your Word with a splash of creativity! Well, here's the last page. Rhonna wanted to celebrate our uniqueness...Dr Seuss put it so well! Then again, David really nailed it in Psalm 139...one of my fav's. HuGs....\O/ (Flower Stamps are from Thao Cosgrove's Pretty Primavera Kit)

Day 20, 21 Day Challenge!

Oh my! Only one day left of this challenge. I hope I can stay on track. It's so good when you are held accountable. I don't want to quit this awesome habit of daily meditation on the WOrD! Here's my creative page for my journal for today. I'll miss the 21-ers at 2Ps! I hope to start a group of my own...here with my worship team. I'm going to make them each a journal of one of our passages we sing...I'll start with the 23rd Psalm...who knows...maybe I'll do all three that we sing at our Worship With the WorD sets! FUN!

Today's quote so beautifully parallels the scripture in 2 Corinthians 4:17. This always helps me to press on and embrace the difficulties in life...an EterNaL WeiGhT of GlOrY!!! What could be better???

Day 19

Rhonna chose this quote for day 19....

"Sow an act...reap a habit; Sow a habit....reap a character; Sow a character...reap a destiny." George Boardman

This is amazing to think about! So much is in our power to choose & act. God has given us dominion. Do we believe it? If we do, our choices will reflect our belief. Do we exercise it rightly? This made me think about the priciple of sowing & reaping. Galatians 6:7-9 says it so well! Verse 7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." This is my meditation for today.

Day 18...Happiness

Truly, happiness is a choice...True in SO many ways! I chose Phil 4:4 to re-enforce Rhonna's quote for today & meditate on...seems even scripture tells us to make the choice to REJOICE, TWICE! It seems our focus has much to do with our attitude. When scripture repeats something...we'd better pay attention!

Day 17, Diligence

Today's quote from our challenge is about the price of success...this spoke to me of diligence. I searched the Proverbs for some nuggets of gold from the Wise King Solomon. Here are some truths I found....

Day 16

Today is day 16 of our 21 day journey to aquiring a good habit. My habit is meditation on the Word of God & creating a journal page around that word. I'm tracking with this 21 day challenge with Rhonna Farrer on 2Ps. There is a group of us on this journey, each with a different goal to establish or break a habit in 21 days! Today's quote from Rhonna is;

"Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging." by Joseph Campbell.

21 Day Challenge, Day 17
Diligence

Rhonna's Quote inspired me to think about the challenges in my life & how I respond to them. The scripture that came alive to me is Psalm 84:5-7. It talks about the valley of baca. It is a low place of sufferring & weeping & certainly CHALLENGE! The one who makes God his strength makes the valley of baca a place of springs & pools; meaning refreshing, life & growth. I want to be this kind of person. One who does not despise the sufferring & difficult places in life...but takes on the challenges in the strength of the Lord & finds new life in them! This Psalm is overlaid in white on the journal page below. The quote & artwork on the right are Rhonna's. She shares one a day on this 21 day challenge! It is hard to read the script, so the Psalm reads;
Psalm 84:5-7
5. How blessed is the man whose strength is in You, In whose heart are the highways to Zion!6. Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a spring ; The early rain also covers it with blessings.7. They go from strength to strength, Every one of them appears before God in Zion.
